The official Millennium Philcon hotels are now accepting reservations. Download the hotel chart for all of the information you will need to make your reservations. Use the hotel location map to help identify the locations of specific hotels.
New! For those staying at the Philadelphia Marriott, an "Energy Charge" will appear on your daily bill. This charge WILL be removed at the time you check-out.
New! As of August 21, 2001 there are over 100 rooms available in the Courtyard by Marriott. To make a reservation use this specific toll-free number, 1-888-887-8130; or call the hotel directly at 1-215-496-3200. Rooms are also still available in the other hotels (except sold out Philadelphia Marriott and the Hilton Garden Inn), and subject to their availability, may offer the Convention rate.

The Millennium Philcon is not using a housing bureau to handle reservations. All room reservations (except for suites at the Philadelphia Marriott, as noted below) must be made directly with the hotels. You may call the hotel, or fax or mail the hotel form, or (for some hotels) make a reservation on-line. Addresses, phone and fax numbers and on-line reservation information appear on the chart that accompanies the hotel form.
Philadelphia Marriott (Our only party hotel): If you try to make a reservation at the Philadelphia Marriott, you may be told that the hotel is full, or that the rate you want isn't available. You will receive this response from the web page (or a reservations clerk if you are using the phone) if any night during the period is sold out. Therefore, if you get this response, you may wish to try one of the following options:
- Make a reservation at the Philadelphia Marriott for the nights you can get and check periodically to see if rooms are available on the other nights.
- Make your reservations at one of the other nearby convention hotels for the nights before and/or after and then stay at the Philadelphia Marriott for the convention itself.
- Stay at one of the other nearby convention hotels for the duration of the convention.
Rooms may become available closer to the convention but we have no way of knowing that now. The Philadelphia Marriott will be hosting another convention immediately before the Millennium Philcon and not surprisingly, is allocating many of their rooms to that other convention. We'll do our best to disseminate any updates to additional information as it becomes available. We apologize for the inconvenience.
New! Loews Philadelphia: For reservations, please telephone the Loews Philadelphia [215-627-1200] during business hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EDT) and ask for Reservations. Once connected, please advise them that you are with the World Science Fiction Convention or Millennium Philcon. You will then get the Convention rates. The Loews Philadelphia has fax machines in most sleeping rooms.
Deposits: All hotels require either a credit card guarantee or one night's room deposit. Credit cards will not be charged before arrival at the hotel.
Suites: The hotel form cannot be used to reserve suites at the Philadelphia Marriott. Instead, request information from the Suites Coordinator, Ben Yalow. Send email to suites@milphil.org, or write to the Millennium Philcon post office box, Attention: Suites Coordinator. Suite assignments are expected to be completed by July 15, 2001. Click here for suite diagrams and rates. There may be a few suites left, please email suites@milphil.org for more information.
Room Blocks: Individuals who wish to obtain rooms near one another must first make reservations with their preferred hotel, then request blocking by sending email to blocking@milphil.org or writing to the Millennium Philcon post office box, Attention: Blocking Coordinator. Millennium Philcon will use its best efforts to honor blocking requests but cannot guarantee success. Requests must be received by July 15, 2001.
Cancellations: Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours before scheduled arrival time. Later cancellation will result in a penalty of one night's room charge.
Special Requests/Needs:
- If you are requesting something which the hotel cannot provide when you make your reservation, ask them to list your request(s) in the notes field, and be sure to tell them the order of your priorities. For instance, if you want a smoking room with a king-sized bed on a party floor, tell them which is your top priority, which is second, and which is third, so that the hotel knows how to move you if it gets one of your requests but not all.
- If you are booking in the Philadelphia Marriott (Our only party hotel):
- If you are calling to make your reservation, be sure that the hotel asks you whether you want a party floor or quiet floor. If they do not ask you, tell them whether or not you want a party floor and ask them to make a note about this on your record.
- If you are making your reservation with our downloadable hotel reservation form, be sure that you check the correct box under Special Requests indicating whether you want a party floor or a quiet floor.
- If you are making your reservation directly on the Philadelphia Marriott web site, be sure that you use their comment field to indicate whether you want a party floor or a quiet floor. This is the only place that that information can be placed. Marriott Rewards Members click here for important information on making a reservation.
- Cots: prices for cots which are quoted on the hotel form chart represent the cost of the cot for your entire stay, not just per night. If the hotel chart does not list prices for cots for your hotel, it's not in our contract and you must discuss it with them separately.
