Driving Directions to the Pennsylvania Convention Center
General Instructions
Traffic updates are available from many local radio stations. We recommend KYW 1060 AM which gives reports every 10 minutes starting at two minutes past the hour. I-95, I-76 and I- 676 are all roads that are in heavy use during the morning and evening rush hours. If you are arriving during these periods you may expect delays.
When crossing the Delaware River, pay careful attention to the speed limits on the bridges.
Most streets in Central Philadelphia are one-way in alternating directions. You may have to circle a block to get to your hotel.
Construction
I-95 is under construction north of I-676, causing lane narrowing both northbound and southbound. This is normally only a problem during rush hour.
The ramps to I-95 at the airport are under construction. There may be detours in effect late at night.
I-76 has a lane closure westbound at Rt. 202. This may be a problem leaving the convention. For more up-to-date information, consult the website <http://www.dvrpc.org/transportation/travelsmart.htm>
Note that the exit referred to as Exit 17 on I-95 has recently been renumbered to match the mileage from the city limits. There's still a small sign that says "Old Exit 17" before you get to it, and the names of the roads are still the same.
The Philadelphia Convention Center has information about parking lots near the PCC.
From the West
Follow the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 24 (I-76, also called the Schuylkill Expressway). Take I-76 south to Exit 38 (I-676 East). Take I-676 East and exit at Broad Street (Rt. 611). This will be the second exit. You will be on Vine Street. Follow Vine Street to 12th Street (4 traffic lights). Make a right onto 12th Street and the Convention Center begins at Race Street (next light). See the Center City map for the hotel locations.
From the South
Take 1-95 North to Exit 17 (Central Philadelphia/ I-676). Stay in the left lane of this exit. Follow signs for I-676 West to the first exit (Broad Street). This exit brings you to 15th and Vine Streets. Go to the second traffic light on 15th St. (the first is at the end of the exit ramp). This is Vine Street East. Turn left. The third traffic light is 12th Street. Make a right onto 12th Street and the Convention Center begins at Race Street (next light). See the Center City map for the hotel locations.
From the Airport
Follow the airport signs to I-95 North. Follow directions for "From the South."
From the North
Via I-95
South Take I-95 South to Exit 17 (Central Philadelphia/ I-676). Stay in the left lane of this exit. Follow signs for I-676 West to the first exit (Broad Street). Via the New Jersey Turnpike
Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 4 (Philadelphia/ Camden). Get onto Rt. 73 North and follow it to Rt. 90/Betsy Ross Bridge (left two lanes exit). The toll is $3.00. Cross the bridge and get on I-95 South (left lane exit). Take I-95 South and follow directions for "Via I-95".
From the East
